On Nick Coleman's latest rant
Nick Coleman today goes off on his favorite subject, defending illegal immigration.
Here's what he has to say:
##
I wrote recently about a mystery focus group, held in Mankato last year, in which participants were prodded by the moderator in what seemed to be a crude attempt to dredge up -- or manufacture -- anti-immigration sentiment. (Source: Star Tribune, Jan. 11, 2006)
##
First off, from what I understand from reading Coleman's previous rants on the subject, the purpose of the focus group was to find out how people thought about certain issues, not to "dredge up anti-immigrant sentiment."
Secondly, the purpose of the question(s) about illegal immigration was/were tosee how people felt about the issue.
Finally, a recent poll on one of Greater Minnesota's daily newspapers' web site (West Central Tribune) shows that in Greater Minnesota, illegal immigration is a problem.

KAR has more.
