AP Wire: Wetterling on her future

Child safety advocate Patty Wetterling said Monday that she has met with DFL Attorney General Mike Hatch about being his running mate in the governor's race.

Wetterling spoke to the St. Cloud Times at a reception following a memorial service for former U.S. Sen. Eugene McCarthy at St. John's University. She said she had talked to Hatch since withdrawing from the U.S. Senate race Friday and endorsing Hennepin County Attorney Amy Klobuchar.

Wetterling also is being urged to take another run at what is now an open seat in the Sixth Congressional District, where she had earlier endorsed Elwyn Tinklenberg, a former mayor of Blaine and former state transportation commissioner. (Source: Star Tribune, Jan. 24, 2006)

A source of mine say the Wetterling/Hatch meeting took place directly following her press confernce.
