Pawlenty Aims To Aide Dairy Farmers

At the Midwest Dairy Expo in St. Cloud yesterday, Gov. Pawlenty renewed his call for a tax break for dairy farmers in Minnesota. Last session, Gov. Pawlenty had a similar proposal, but this year's proposal provides for a much larger tax credit/break to dairy farmers.

Minnesota's dairy farmers are world-class when it comes to knowledge and work ethic, but in many cases our farm facilities and equipment need some updating to bring them up to the level of our competitors,'' Pawlenty said. (Source: Star Tribune, Dec. 7, 2005)

It will be interesting to see if the DFLers (Democratic FARM Labor) in the legislature support this initiative. I wouldn't hold my breath.

We are the Democratic-FARMER-Labor party. We represent farmers, not farms.
