MNGOP: Does The DFL Stand With Dean?

Inquiring minds want to know: Do the DFL and its Senatorial candidates agree with Howard Dean's defeatism?

Republican Party of Minnesota Calls on DFL to Respond to Howard Dean's Dangerous Defeatism
Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Ron Carey today issued the following statement.

"It's nice to see that DFL Chairman Brian Melendez is taking the time to meet with reporters tomorrow since he has been silent on DNC Chairman Howard Dean's contention that America will lose the war in Iraq. As a former Dean for President grassroots leader, maybe DFL Chairman Melendez can provide some answers to the following questions:

1. Does DFL Chairman Melendez agree with DNC Chairman Howard Dean that the United States will lose the war in Iraq?

2. Do the three DFL US Senate candidates agree with Howard Dean's contention that America will lose the war in Iraq?"

So, when Bush went on the Today Show and said ""I don't think you can win it," in reference to the war, I guess that was defeatism speaking. Well, it certainly has shown.

New York Times August 31st 2004:
In the interview with Matt Lauer of the NBC News program "Today," conducted on Saturday but shown on the opening day of the Republican National Convention, Mr. Bush was asked if the United States could win the war against terrorism, which he has made the focus of his administration and the central thrust of his re-election campaign.

"I don't think you can win it," Mr. Bush replied. "But I think you can create conditions so that those who use terror as a tool are less acceptable in parts of the world."

Allright, go get that un-American Defeatist.
