FBI murder stats: 50% rise in Mlps

Data provided by the FBI today show a 50% rise in crime from January-June 2005 over the same time period last year for Minneapolis.

2004: 20

2005: 30

% Change: 50%

I thought I read the other day that Minneapolis is on pace to finish equal to or slightly less in the number of murders compared to last year.

I don't have any idea on what happened in the last half of the year, but murders rose 50% in the first half of 2005.

Jeez, how many times do I have to tell you guys that crime isn't a problem in MPLS OR SP. Sure, there are a few rapes, aggravated assaults and murders, but it's not like Leningrad circa 1941 or something.

I go downtown all the time and see no crime whatsoever. Therefore you are all paranoid and crazy, and stuff.
