Is the DSCC cold on Minnesota

I got this e-mail this morning from a reader. It was sent yesterday by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC). the e-mail highlights several races in 2006, yet makes no note of Minnesota. One can't help but wonder if the DSCC isn't too keen on the DFL's Queen Making. The DSCC seems to think that a former KKK member is better for fundraising than Ms. Klobuchar.

Dear XXXXX XXXXXXX,

After seeing how successful he was demanding answers about pre-war intelligence last week on the Senate floor, don't you want to see Harry Reid setting the agenda for the United States Senate every single day?

Don't you want to stop Rick Santorum from voting on Supreme Court justices for another six years?

Don't you want to stop Katherine Harris from casting her first vote as a United States Senator to "stay the course" in Iraq?

On November 7, 2006 - exactly one year from today - we have a chance to say yes to all those questions. We can take back the Senate and make Harry Reid the new Majority Leader. We can defeat Rick Santorum in Pennsylvania and send Bob Casey to Washington. We can reelect Bill Nelson in Florida - and we won't need a recount to do it. What we will need, however, is your help.

The DSCC has set a goal to raise $365,000 by midnight tonight to jump-start our
year-long campaign to elect a Democratic Senate. That's $1,000 we can spend every day to hold right-wing Republicans accountable for their actions and to deliver the Democratic message directly to the voters. We are almost at our goal. We only have about $100,000 to go. Your support could put us over the top. Please make a contribution today.

Click here to make a secure contribution of $50, $75, or more. If
you give by midnight tonight, Sen. Ron Wyden will personally match your
contribution dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling your gift.

Sen. Wyden is committed to our efforts because he knows that taking back the Senate is the most important political cause you can contribute to right now. He knows that only a Democratic Senate will enact an agenda focused on building opportunity and providing security for every American.

The DSCC is the only organization that can make up for the millions of special interest dollars Republicans funnel to the campaign budgets of their top-tier candidates like Jon Kyl in Arizona or Conrad Burns in Montana. Democratic incumbents like Robert Byrd in West Virginia and Maria Cantwell in Washington can only compete toe-to-toe for every single vote with your help.

When you support the DSCC, you help us close the money gap so we can elect Democratic challengers like Claire McCaskill in Missouri and Harold Ford, Jr. in Tennessee. Together, we can elect a Democratic Senate that will change the corrupt and poisonous environment the Republicans have created in Washington. Please
make a contribution by midnight tonight.

Click here to make a secure contribution of $50, $75, or more. If
you give by midnight tonight, Sen. Ron Wyden will personally match your
contribution dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling your gift.

Remember, the DSCC is the only national party organization that gives more money and material support directly to the Democratic Senate campaigns most in need
than any other political organization. We can make Harry Reid the new Majority Leader in 2006. We can beat Rick Santorum and Katherine Harris and put a stop to George Bush's right-wing agenda.

But we have a lot of work to do over the next year. Making a contribution today is a great way to get started.

Sincerely,
J.B. Poersch

Executive Director

P.S. Tuesday,
November 8, is an important Election Day in key states like California, New
Jersey, Ohio, and Virginia. New York City, San Diego, Detroit and many
other cities and towns will also hold municipal elections tomorrow. Don't
forget to go out and vote for Democrats up and down the ticket if there's an
election where you live.

Try this one: the DSCC doesn't want to get in the way of the DFL endorsement process. Amy Klobuchar may be the DFL frontrunner, but she certainly has not locked up the endorsement. The NRSC, however, did participate in clearing the field for Screech Kennedy. Once we pick our candidate (and I have my fingers crossed for Amy), then the DSCC will get behind her. You Republicans have it all backwards, you have the elites pick the candidate and then make the republicans in the state get behind her.

Queenmaking? Are you joking me? Have you seen Mark Kennedy's competition in the primary, and what the Republican party did to secure that?

" Mr. Sharon's policies toward the Palestinian People
could be compared to as if Mr. Sharon
used an Atomic Bomb to kill an ant!"

If you are critical of the policies of Mr. Ariel Sharon, it does not make one anti-Semitic. Is the whole Israeli Peace Movement anti-Semitic? Is Prime Minister Peres anti-Semitic. Is Gush Shalom and all the Israeli Peace movements anti-Semitic? Are the 64 UN staffers in their Petition who only say "Israel stop killing us" anti-Semitic?

How can a IDF sniper after watching Iain Hook, a tall fair person with sandy colors hair for over 3 hours through a scope which Magnified by over 3+ times at a distance of 20 meters; equal to shooting someone at 14 feet make a mistake. Why was the ambulance stopped only 2 meters bleeding Iain Hook and could not rushing Iain Hook to the hospital?

Was Tom Hundrell's family anti-Semitic for say that their son was murdered? Was the IDF soldier who admitted lying about killing Tom Hundrell anti-Semitic? Was the Israeli Judge who arrested the IDF soldier who admitted killing Tom Hundrell's anti-Semitic?

The problem with Mr. Arial Sharon's military policies toward the Palestinian People is as Dr. Jack Shepard said:

" Mr. Sharon's policies toward the Palestinian People could be compared to as if Mr. Sharon used an Atomic Bomb to kill an ant!"

What happened, to thinking about God; and why have both sides forgotten what all the Prophets taught that; "We should love our neighbor, as we love God. "

Just stop
a military victory is impossible by either side.

So after Tom Hundrell's sniper murderer goes to jail; end it!

Snipers can see who they kill, if not they would not have qualified to be snipers.

The devil has placed
the Israeli's and Palestinians at odds,
exactly like the devil placed Joseph
and his brothers at odds.

When will both sides wakeup and act like Joseph, when he explained to his father why he forgave his brothers because the devil placed them at odds with him; but that time has pasted.

I pray for the day that both the Israeli's and the Palestinians both renew their faith in God and realize that the devil have placed them at odds to each other, and let this terrible time in both your histories pass.
Act like Joseph did with his brothers, you are both brothers, “Let God back into your Hearts.”

Presently neither side can say truthfully in their hearts
that their actions please God.

Forgive each other by start doing things that please God,
think what you are doing and look where the Devil has lead you.
Is anyone happy with the present situation?.

Throughout the Old Testament
it says every time the Israelites did things that did not please God, he punished them.

Wakeup God is knows all and forget about yesterday,
as Judith in her prayers says; God has Made yesterday
and pray to God
to make tomorrow, a tomorrow of Love and Peace
where you both can share and enjoy what God has given you.
Most important act like God, everywhere in the bible it says, “God is forgiving.” End it!
Forgive each other
and do not let the Devil continue to place you at odds;
open your eyes
like Joseph opened his brothers eyes and forgave them.

Both side just stop
and start doing things that will please God
your suffering will never stop like your past two generations.

This world belongs to God,
if you never learn to share. You can never please God.

I pray that God Blesses everyone in Israel
with Peace and Love both Jews and Arabs.

I pray God lets your eyes see what you both do is evil.
Until you both once again learn to Love each other as brothers; you both will suffer
because if one is anti-Semitic
he hates both Jews and Arabs because you are brothers.

Learn from Joseph as he forgave his brothers; I pray you can each forgive each other.
Do not let the devil
continue to place you at odds.

My words will be heard;
I hope for you sooner than later to end your suffering.
But through my faith in God and what I do; I know my words will be heard. God has his plan and his individual mission for each of us.
You have all forgot that each of us will individually be judged by God on our Day of Judgment.

You can say and do what you wish to me or any one else;
but God is all seeing and all knowing.

Those who act like people made for Heaven
will be judged as so, and
those who act like people made for Hell will be judged as so.

This Life is very short.
Those who will dwell and suffer in Hell by their actions have to remember it is FOREVER,
those who dwell in Heaven
will be the happy ones FOREVER!

Toby,

You may be chagrined to know that there are candidates to the left of Bob Casey in PA who are viable and are contesting that Dem. endorsement. Seems to be some kingmaking of a pro-life Dem. in a pro-life state, wouldn't you agree?

Are you telling me the letter couldn't have made reference to the 'several attractive candidates in Minnesota' you guys claim to have?

The lack of a Minnesota mention is not insignificant. Most national $ will flow to try and defeat Cruella.

Mr. Miller,

Bob Casey is by far the frontrunner in PA, there are some candidates to the left of him, but are polling below 10% for Democrats, clearly he has it locked up (even though he is pro-life). Amy does not have a lock, Ciresi has yet to announce, and Patty has yet to drop out. Minnesota will no doubt be one of the biggest targets this cycle for the DSCC, but they will wait until there seems to be a clear idea of who the DFL candidate will be.

By the way, who is Cruella?

When running for Congress in 1952, he announced, "After about a year, I became disinterested, quit paying my dues, and dropped my membership in the organization. During the nine years that have followed, I have never been interested in the Klan." During this campaign, "Byrd went on the radio to acknowledge that he belonged to the Klan from 'mid-1942 to early 1943,' according to newspaper accounts. He explained that he had joined 'because it offered excitement and because it was strongly opposed to communism.' " ibid.

Byrd has often referred to his Klan membership as a mistake of his youth. As recently as 1997, he told an interviewer he'd encourage young people to become involved in politics, but with this warning: "Be sure you avoid the Ku Klux Klan. Don't get that albatross around your neck. Once you've made that mistake, you inhibit your operations in the political arena." CNN's Bernard Shaw asked Byrd in a 1993 interview, "What has been your biggest mistake and your biggest success?" Byrd responded, "Well, it's easy to state what has been my biggest mistake. The greatest mistake I ever made was joining the Ku Klux Klan. And I've said that many times. But one cannot erase what he has done. He can only change his ways and his thoughts. That was an albatross around my neck that I will always wear. You will read it in my obituary that I was a member of the Ku Klux Klan."

And more recently than 1997 Byrd has used the "n word".
