UPDATE #3: Thune to raise cash for Kennedy

A reliable source has confirmed that Sen. John Thune will be raising money for Rep. Mark Kennedy on September 23rd, 2005.

Thune's stature as rising star of the RNC should certainly help fill Kennedy's war chest.

I don't know any GOPers in MN that have a great love for Thune. He wasn't even able to save the military base in SoDak from closing. He's hardly a GOP superstar.

You're an idiot. Thune DID save the base:

"Ellsworth’s survival was a major victory for freshman Republican Sen. John Thune, who had argued that he would be in a better position to save the base than Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., who Thune defeated last year." LINK.

What does it say about Mark Kenneddy that he needs a freshman Senator to raise money for him.

Yeah really.

Who's next to raise money for him, another GOP Senate candidate?

John Kerry.

Oh wait, that's who Chirs Coleman is getting to come to help with his mayoral campaign.

John Kerry, you'll notice, is A: a former presidential candidate and B: an actual U.S. Senator. Not a freshman, either. Besides, bringing in a Senator for a mayoral election is a little bit of a bigger deal than bringing in a SENATOR for a SENATORIAL election.

The word "loser" comes to mind when I think of Kerry.

Thune did the improbable: he beat a popular Senate Minority Leader that brought tons of pork to South Dakota.
