Is the Strib scared by a 527?

The Campaign for St. Paul's Future was attacked today by the Star Tribune. The group was called a "Rovian attack squad" in an editorial this morning.

The group, headed up by GOP activist Joe Weber, must be on to something if the Star Tribune devotes column space to attacking them.

They aren't scared of Kelly of his 527. They're just pointing out that he's a tool of the Republicans.

Kelly is in serious trouble in St Paul. There's no spinning those primary results.

In 2001 Kelly was a narrow second to Benanav. But there was an endorsed Republican in the race with Jerry Blakey. Norm Coleman was furious when Blakey entered the race. In fact in that race Norm Coleman supported a Democrat over an endorsed Republican.

There were also several other democrats in the race. Bob Long was one and there were several others.

Kelly's campaign did most certainly campaign for the primary. Voters in St Paul were getting mail and phone calls in support of Randy Kelly.
