More on Klobuchar's field trip

Sunday’s post on Amy Klobuchar visiting a farm dressed in a business suit and tennis shoes reminded a few readers of other infamous candidate gaffes while hitting the road.

You ass, they all look better than Mark "Deer in the Headlights" Kennedy.

And yet Dukakis and Kerry lost.

Maybe she should wear a sweatshirt from Harvard, her alma mater. I'm sure the farmers would really relate to her then.

Sorry, this isn't comparable. The point is Amy Klobuchar is wearing stuff she is comfortable in.

The other examples were Dukakis and Kerry being who they weren't.

Stan,

She went to Yale, not Harvard. I'm sure it doesn't matter to you, you probably resent anyone who went to college...

Whether or not she is comfortable in that attire doesn't change the fact that she has no idea what life is like outside of Hennepin County.

And Brooklyn-raised, mayor of St. Paul, Norm Coleman did when he ran? Sure, he went to University of Iowa for law school, but I'm sure he spent more time smoking pot than he did feeding pigs.

While Klobuchar was born and raised in Hennepin County, she went to school in Connecticut and in Chicago (so she does know what life was like outside Hennepin County). It may also shock you to hear that there is indeed farmland in Hennepin County.

You base your ENTIRE ASSUMPTION about her on one picture. Sure, it may have been a poor choice for her campaign to put it up there, and I'm sure there'll better pictures where she's in overalls or something.

Why don't you do some research about the woman, find an issue that you disagree with her on, and make your case.

Ok, you aren't helping her case by saying she went to school in Connecticut and in Chicago (when I said outside of Hennepin County, I mean in Minnesota). Typical liberal elitists, you guys have nothing but contempt for rural Minnesotans. As far as issues go, this IS and issue: if she can't relate to the 40% of Minnesotans living in rural areas, how can she serve their needs in the US Senate?

There are rural areas in Hennepin County.

How many other Senate candidates that have not lived on a farm have been elected in recent Minnesota history? Like most of them? I think your (flawed) point is that since she is wearing a suit on a farm, she must be clueless about farm issues. That's just silly. Wait until she debates on farm issues. If she proves to be out of touch with farmers then, I'll happily admit you are right.

She may know some stuff, but won't be able to beat Mark Kennedy on the issues. But she won't ever debate Mark Kennedy because chances are she won't make it past the primary. She can't beat Doran's Millions.

I don't know, I think a lot of DFLers will be turned off by Doran's lack of experience and him basically ignoring the DFL endorsement process in an attempt to buy the seat like Dayton or Ciresi. That and Klobuchar is loved by everyone in Hennepin County. When the debate does come, Kennedy will have to defend his CAFTA vote. Should be interesting.
