The boys are back in town

Yesterday, Gov. Tim Pawlenty welcomed hockey back into the state of Minnesota by declaring Monday “‘State of Hockey’ Flag Day.”

Today is ‘State of Hockey’ Flag Day
ST. PAUL (AP) - State and city leaders gathered at the Xcel Energy Center this morning to welcome back the Minnesota Wild.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty declared today "The State of Hockey" Day in Minnesota. The event helped kick off a statewide tour by team players, officials and coaches to drum up support and smooth over any ill will from the lockout.

After sitting out the entire 2004-05 season in a labor dispute with NHL owners, the Wild returns to the ice this fall.
That's big news not only for fans, but for area businesses as well. Most bar and restaurant owners around the Xcel Center say they lost considerable business during the lockout.

Hopefully attendane at Wild games will be up to help the struggling W. Seventh business near the X.

Only the most un-Minnesotan of Minnesotans would disagree with this. Did you hear that? I think I just heard Professor Schultz of Hamline file another law suit.
